Mission
To provide skilled, affordable and dignified hospital care to the people of Akwatia and the Eastern Region — with orthopaedic surgery of a standard that removes the need to travel.
Akwatia, Eastern Region · Emergency care 24 hours
About the hospital
Ghana Consolidated Diamonds Hospital grew out of the mining community of Akwatia, in the Eastern Region. What began as a workers' clinic now serves the whole district — with an orthopaedic surgery service that draws patients from far beyond it.

Our story
Akwatia sits in Ghana's diamond region, and the town's hospital was built to look after the people who worked there. Injuries from heavy work made bones our daily business, and over the years that necessity turned into expertise: fracture fixation, joint replacement, spine and sports injury surgery.
Today patients travel to us because the orthopaedic outcomes are strong and the cost is a fraction of treatment in Accra or abroad. The rest of the hospital — medicine, maternity, paediatrics, diagnostics, emergency — carries the same standard of attention.
We call it precious care: the belief that a person who trusts you with their body is handing you something rare.
Leadership
Clinical leadership sets the standard for every ward, clinic and theatre list.

Dr. Obeng-Nsiah leads the hospital's clinical and administrative teams, and is the driving force behind its orthopaedic focus — building a service where surgery, imaging and physiotherapy sit under one roof so a patient's recovery is never handed off and forgotten.

Our commitment
We improve in small, deliberate steps — better theatres, better training, better records — always measured by what it means for the patient in front of us.
Equipment, sterile practice and perioperative routines reviewed regularly so surgery here meets the standard of a far larger hospital.
Continuing training for surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists and laboratory staff, with outcomes discussed openly as a team.
Patient information handled accurately and privately, so the next clinician always has the full picture.
Partner hospitals and clinics can refer a patient to us and follow that referral through to care.
